Stanley tried a few different designs of metal bodied combination
& plow planes, beginning with the "early 50", and the Miller Patent No.
41 thru 44 line of planes before settling down and going with the #45 / 55 series of
combination planes that are so well known. This series of planes would also include the skew cut
#46 & 47 models as well as the light duty #50 plow plane.
Stanley first
offered the Millers Patent line of woodworking planes, the # 4 1thru # 44, which were
introduced in 1870, and phased out in the 1890s. They continued the line and offered the later No. 141
and 143 plow planes for a longer period of time. To learn all the history about the different models and types of
# 45 & # 55 planes one would ever need to know, I recommend the great guide written and published by Dave Heckel
past president of MWTCA. The Millers Patent line of Stanley planes is discussed
in length in Roger Smiths works on the subject or in John Walters out of
print price guides. There is also the more recent and comprehensive work done by Don Bosse.

A nice example of a Stanley Rule & Level Co. No. 41 Millers Patent
Plow Plane w/ Fillister bed, wrap around fence that has been re-japanned.
It comes with 9 good cutters.It has early un-slotted fence screws and no provision for the rear depth stop and slitter that later models have. The patent info stamp on the skate is faint. A graphic and pretty nice example of an early Stanley Miller Patent No 41 Combination Plow Plane!!

w/ Cutters The plane is in very nice condition.
I believe it is a type 12 from approx. 1915 - 1920 given the way the skate is marked Stanley.
Minor loss to nickel plating. Cutters are pretty nice. No damage to the plane body or fences. Wooden knob on fence is nice. 3 depth stops. Has both long and short rods, cam, 11 plow cutters, 7 bead, and 3 match or T&G cutters. Depth stops. A good user.

Stanley No. 11 Belt Makers Scraper Plane This is
a first model No. 11 Scraper Plane with its removable frog and vertical adjuster attached to the rear like a # 9
cabinets makers plane has. It would date from 1869 to 1904. On later models the adjuster was part of the body and
came out from the back.An unusual plane originally designed scrape and dress leather belts for line driven machinery. First introduced in 1869, it has a somewhat later but proper size cutter in it. Overall very nice condition. No issues. Nice maple handle. Very Nice!

Stanley No. 96 Blind Nailing Chisel Plane Very nice!!
The No. 96 is the interesting 1/4" chisel plane for blind nailing that Stanley first introduced back in 1888.
This version dates from just after the turn of the century with Stanley in block letters on one side.
It is in much nicer than most as the steel body is often rusty and pitted. The idea was you could peel up a sliver of wood, set a small nail or screw under that and then glue the sliver back down for an invisible connection. It has a very nice Witherby 1/4" chisel installed.

94 Bullnose Rabbet Plane The No. 94 is largest
of the 90 series of rabbet planes Stanley offered. As is typical
the nickel has not done well. The overall condition is very good, with
no damage or issues other then there has been considerable loss to the
nickel finish.

239 "Special" Dado Planes Fine Condition. 95% or better original finish
on both. These little dado planes came in 4 sizes. The frame and markings were the same for all
sizes, just the cutter and front nicker / cutter changes with each size. One is
1/8" and Sweetheart era. The other one is a bit later, and 3/16".
