it is a Sears product. The black on the nose and along the edge are part
of the design and enameled.

This electric iron had a great look with the
alligator finish. They must have been popular and they are pretty common,
but usually all beat up. This example is real nice.

This one says it was by Consolidated Electric.
It too has a handle made by Sensible, and again I do not know the history of the
named company or what their relationship w/ Sensible was, or with the Goldman
Co. What is known is that electric sleeve irons were not manufactured for
very long as they are quite uncommon. This one has a cord with porcelain
plugs for the iron, but the plug end which was probably a screw in is missing.

Monarch Round Flat Iron This is the
flying saucer of flat irons. Note the handle and its support system.
Knapp Monarch was famous for their different body shapes on their electric
irons. This is but just one of many, and the most unusual. There was
a time these round irons were selling for $600 or more.
