A. Lietz San Francisco Wet Compass  I am not sure when this dates from exactly, but the style and look of the box are a strong indication that it dates from early in the 20th century if not earlier.  The label inside the top of the box is worn and very early also.  The face has been restored / repainted.  Click for pic     Click for pic     Click for pic       Click for pic

Gurley Rod Level  These hinged levels are very hard to find marked Gurley and with the patent date.  There is still a plastic version being made and sold today, but these early versions are near impossible to find.  They were designed to be used with the rod and would help the holder keep the rod plumb.   Click for pic

K & E Surveyor's Chain  This is a 100' chain in super condition.  The ends of the handles are clearly marked with the length catalog # and the K & E name.  None nicer.

Surveyor's Chains  From the top.

The first one is a very nice thick link 50' chain with loop handles.  It is unmarked.  My understanding is that these 50' chains are associated with railroads and the 50' right away they have.  It is in very nice condition.      Good+ ..... $295.00

The bottom one is an unmarked 100.  It has cast Brass loop handles.  There is a screw adjustment feature to take up any slack that may occur over time.  It has tags, but none are marked with the makers name.    Good+ ..... $295.00
