Metal Bodied Woodworking Planes
"Ganby"
Gunmetal Rabbit Plane
This is an interesting bronze or Gunmetal Rabbit plane that I have never seen
before. It is a very nice casting and the name "Ganby" is very clear on
the side in cast letters. The
cap has an unusual slot affair for the way it locks
in place (see picture) and is set by turning the decorative screw which tightens the blade in
place at the same time. The paint looks vintage and original. It is
1" wide, and nearly 4" long. Different & Nice.

Door Gain Planes
These planes came out of a fitted tool box. There were also T & G planes
and other finish type planes in that box. These are for cutting the hinge
gains in doors. Why this fellow needed three of them is beyond me unless
he was using one for each hinjge on a door.

#6 Fore Plane
This Diamond Edge has a hard black rubber handle. The plane is sound and nice
overall.

Block Plane
This is an interesting low angle block plane that I do not recognize. The
cap seems to be a make-do but with an unusual slot affair for the way it locks
in place (see picture). It is low angle, and it seems to function
properly. Interesting.

Aluminum Fore Plane This
#6 size plane is unmarked on the body as to a maker, but
was created using Stanley parts. They are most commonly associated with
ship building and were made for jointing long boards or flooring / decks.
It is a fine casting job. Different.

Wards #7 Jointer Plane This
# 7 size smooth bottom jointer plane was made by Stanley and is marked Wards
Master on the lever cap. It has a nice Rosewood handle like one would
expect to see on a Stanley plane from the 30's or so. It has the external
frog adjusting screw feature. Swap out the lever cap and no one would
know. It is a Stanley in every respect and one could make the argument
much rarer than a typical Stanley #7 from the same era. I have had sellers
make that argument to me when selling theirs. A great user.
