#2 Size Smooth Planes

Zenith Marshall Wells (#2C size) Smooth Plane  This is a very nice example of an early plane made by Sargent Tool Co. for the Marshall Wells Hardware Store Company.  I believe these were only made for a short period of time back in the teens or 20's.   This plane retains most of its original japanning, and has a rich and even patina with no pitting or rust to speak of.  The etched logos on the sides are nice.  The wood is exceptional and the finish is original.  The Zenith logo on the cutter is strong and nice as well.  A tough plane to find.   Click for Pic     Click for Pic    Click for Pic    Click for Pic      Click for Pic     Click for Pic
