#100 Tool Set in Original Box
What you see is what you get. It is near mint and all here. Tough
to find in this condition. Put that battery thing down and pick up the
real deal. From a time past.
Yankee
#30A Push Driver / Drill in Box
This is a pretty nice example with original bits.
The box is in pieces.
Yankee
#41 Push Drill in Box
This is a
pretty nice example with all of its original bits. Getting tough to
find in this condition
Yankee
#41 Push Drill in # 44 Box
This is a
pretty nice example with all of its original bits. Not sure when or how it
got into this box which I assume was for a slightly shorter model. Getting tough to
find in this condition.
2
1850 Patent Crossman & Co. Auger Handles
One is much larger than the other, and both are in like new unused condition. They are an interesting design, and well
thought out to solve the problem of the bits loosening and falling out during
use, but i am
sure did not meet with much favor from the foreman who was trying to increase
productivity. To use you have to unscrew the handles w/ a threaded rod, insert it
through the collar and the bit, then rescrew it back together. It is a
very positive lock feature, but it is little
wonder they look to have never been used.
2
Patented Screw Holding Screwdrivers
Both have an unusual screw holding feature. The left one you can make
out the patent info and is much earlier and complex.
Goodell
Pratt #1 Hand Drill w/ Storage Handle
This is a pretty nice example. Getting
tough to find in this condition and in
the original box.
5
Angle Drills / Corner Drills
The top
three angle / corner drills are adjustable and you can get a sense of the different
ideas utilized when in a tight corner. Look at the picks to see all the features
of the patented version on the top. It is pretty wild.
The second one is a like new Millers
Falls. You use to be able to find these all the time, but the supply has pretty
much dried up.
These are nice and all slightly
different.

Pump
Auger or Pipe Auger Drill Bits
There are
8 different versions or sizes of these rare auger drills included here. Several
have aux. guards or cutters attached that could be sharpened and / or replaced.
These were mostly used by early settlers to make water pipes or pump housings.
I was reading one story where the early California settlers used a set of these
to bring down the largest of the virgin Redwoods or Sequoias down by Calaveras back
in the early days when they could not think of any other way to bring down a 300+
ft. tall tree that was over 25' in Dia. It took them 20 some days to destroy
what had taken 2,000 or more years to grow, just so they could say they did it.
All appear to be usable. Nice.
