** Misc Antique Shoe Making Tools **

Early Star Shoe Stretcher   Tools like this were once common when making different size shoes was a bit like guesswork, and they needed to be adjusted slightly to fit.  Slip the shoe on apply pressure, and voila you got a different size.  It has a neat look, and a typical name for a tool from the late 1800's "The Star".

Early Bunion Cure    I get inquiries about this tool and other foms of these on a regular basis asking what it is or what it was for. The idea was put the ball in the shoe and squeeze, making room for your bunion you had, and the doctor told you to learn to live with or you could not afford to have removed or feared they might cut off your whole foot over a little bump.

The shoe forms are jointed and make for nice display pieces or decorator pieces.
