Misc. & Unusual German
Collectible Toy Sewing Machines

Toy Sewing MachineSchurhoff German Toy Sewing Machine   This German firm was not nearly as prolific a maker as Casige or Muller or many of the other toy sewing machine manufacturers of the day.   Their machines are highly collectible because of their relative scarcity.  The example is the "Type 47", which is boldly proclaimed by the decal placed prominently on the front side.  It was produced in the late 1940's so perhaps that number makes a reference to the year??  In any case it is decorated with a bright golden yellow ball surrounded by yellow and gold flowers and vines on the body, and even has decoration at the corners of the base.  It is in super condition and a very nice TSM.

Schurhoff "Golden Rain" TSM Toy Sewing MachineSchurhoff German Toy Sewing Machine   The German toy maker Schurhoff  was not nearly as prolific a maker as Casige or Muller but their machines are highly collectible because of their relative scarcity and quality of the decorations that can be found..  This example is the "Golden Rain" showing a girl catching golden rain drops falling from the sky.  The condition is very nice and it is a hard to find machine. The name is written across the sew plate, but was hard to pick up in a photo.  A welcome addition to any collection!

Diana TSM Toy Sewing MachineDiana TSM Toy Sewing Machine in Original Box    This is a cute little sheet steel toy sewing machine called the Diana  It was made shortly after the second World War in Germany by the firm named Schurhoff.   It's in near mint condition having spent its entire life in the original box.  The paint is bright and near flawless.  There is no wear or damage to the unusual logo / decal found on both sides.   I love how the Germans had a way of picturing the toy sewing machines on the labels of the boxes at about twice their actual size relative to the size of the child.  A special little machine ready for the display.

"Our Pet" Casige TSM Toy Sewing Machine"Our Pet" Casige / Seco Service TSM Toy Sewing Machine in Original Box    This is a super little sheet steel toy sewing machine called "Our Pet" in its original wooden box.  It has a picture label with a name Seco Service I have never seen before.   It was made shortly after the second World War in Germany by Casige and has their log on the stitch plate.  Perhaps it was made for Seco by Casige, and they handed them out to their customer's children?  I am not sure.

It's in near mint condition having spent its entire life in the original box.  The paint is bright and near flawless.  There is no wear or damage to flower decals on the base or body.  They look like vine honeysuckles.  You will not find a nicer machine, in nicer condition anywhere.  A super piece.

"Lilliputian" TSM Toy Sewing Machine"Liliputian" TSM Toy Sewing Machine     This is one of the smallest toy sewing machines that can be found.  They were advertised as being a machine that could be threaded and used to really sew, unlike those known as "penny toys".  They date from the first quarter of the 20th century.  I have seen, and will be listing one in its original box in the coming weeks.  They are considered rare as few survived.

Decorated German Toy Sewing MachineFull Body German TSM Toy Sewing Machine     The collector who we are selling these toy sewing machines for was very particular about the condition of the machines in her collection.  She only bought the best, and took care that they remained that way.   This style is what we refer to as a full-body steel, as opposed to either a single thick sheet metal, or cast iron models.  This one has great decoration of geometric flowers and vines spreading up and across the body.  The sew plate is marked with the Casige Eagle.    A very nice example.

TSM Toy Sewing MachineRed German Toy Sewing Machine on Wooden Base    This is a cute little toy sewing machine with a couple of unusual aspects.  Few "tinnie" sewing machines were fixed to wooden bases as this one is.  Also note the spool pin comes directly out of the front side of the machine.  I am not sure what firm made this model, but it is nice, and it is a bit different.  The paint is is good condition, and the decals are as well.  It just needs a light cleaning to be a colorful standout in the collection.

Little Red Riding Hood TSMCasige "Little Red Riding Hood" Toy Sewing Machine   This sheet steel toy sewing machine was manufactured by a German company named Casige, and dates from the 1930's-40's.  The colorful decals on front, back and even the base of the machine depict Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf.  This was one in a series of "storybook" or "fairytale" themed toy sewing machines that also included Hansel and Gretel as well as other characters.  Casige made a number of different machines, all of them beautifully decorated, some with swirling flowers, others with geometric designs, but these with the storybook figures have always been a favorite among collectors!   The condition is super, and it will make for a great display.

Casige #204 Treadle Sewing MachineCasige #204 Toy Treadle Sewing Machine   This full bodied sheet steel toy sewing machine was manufactured by Casige. It is proper and original as shown.  Machines can be found on tiny stands that are homemade or aftermarket, but Casige actually made a few different versions of these, with this being the full bodied model.  All are hard to find, and Glenda Thomas in her books could not value them beyond a NPA which meant no price available.

The colorful decals on the front and back are in near perfect condition.   This will make for a great display with a doll sitting at it or as a stand alone.  Different and Unusual!!.
