Bastion Blessing Soda FountainBastian Blessing Soda Fountain w/ 12 Stools, 6 Booths, Syrup Dispensers & More   Here is an original Bastian Blessing Soda Fountain w/ Original Backbar, 12 Soda Fountain Stools, 6 Booths, Syrup Dispensers, Grill, Hood & Accessories.  The entire stainless steel set-up behind the counter is included and pictured below.  Please be sure to view all the pics.

The Bastian Blessing Soda Fountain company was the largest and best known of all soda fountain manufactures.  The business was started in the late 1800's and they were located in Chicago and expanded from there.  There is a nice history about the firm, its founders, and some great pics of other vintage soda fountains at a site called www.retroplanet.com

This Vintage Bastian Soda Fountain is installed in what was Hooks Drug Store in Lyons IN.  The entire unit was installed there in 1953 after a fire and was in use until the drug store closed its doors sometime in the 60's.  It is in very nice overall condition.  The counter is 24' long and Formica covered.  There are 12 vintage round soda fountain stools mounted out in front, and just behind them are 6 matching booths w/ seating that have an interesting retro design.  When looking at the pics the empty area in the backbar is where the grill & hood were located.  The are still on site and included in the package price.  Most of the backbar is stainless steel as is the dispenser and prep area below the counter.  It all looks to be in very nice condition showing just minimal wear.  The refrigeration unit is not working and we are not sure why.

This original Bastian Soda Fountain is still in place as shown, and will have to be taken apart and removed by the buyer / new owner.  We will help in any way we can, and will answer questions or provide additional pics if needed, but again removal and installation will be the new owners responsibility.

This vintage soda fountain is a wonderful opportunity to recreate an authentic 1950's era soda fountain in a diner, retro ice cream shop, candy store or other appropriate location.   It could even be adapted as the centerpiece of a TV set like Happy Days used in that popular TV how.

Ice Cream Sandwhich ScoopThe "Ideal" Vintage / Antique Mechanical Ice Cream Sandwich Dipper / Scoop  This "Ideal" Ice Cream Sandwich Dipper / vintage ice cream scoop is not in Smith's book on scoops.  It was made or sold by the Long Sales Co. of  Syracuse NY. I believe it dates from the 20's or so.  It is a rare and unusual design from the period when economy and precise portions were a major consideration to the shopkeeper's profit margins when dishing out or preparing portions of ice cream..  It is a variation of the Icy-Pie Sandwich style scoops or dippers.  It is different in that it is equipped with a never before seen portion control adjustment built into the handle.  The added bonus on top of that is that it is in its original box and has the original paperwork instructions with it.  This mint condition scoop, the original box, and original paperwork takes that more common and seen before sandwich dipper idea to a new level on par with the rarest of scoops that are so sought after and elusive.  A momentary opportunity waiting to be scooped up!

vintage Ice Cream ScoopsAn Assortment of Vintage / Antique Mechanical Ice Cream Scoops  This small collection of ice cream scoops includes a whole array of different designs and mechanisms to scoop up and then eject ice cream.  There are two early key-twist types in tinned steel.  There are two geared Gilchrest-types with nickel over brass cups.  There is another geared one that has an aluminum cup and is marked "Peerless".  There is one wooden handled one with an odd twist type mechanism on the back side that is unmarked.  There are two thumb-push ejection types---one is marked Taiwan, the other has a US patent number on it (the Taiwan one is actually better made!).  The last one is one of those 1950's-60's ones that they gave away with Crisco and said you could use for shortening or ice cream.  The perfect way to begin a collection or outfit / decorate your own ice cream parlor / general store display!

Ice Cream Freezer / ChurnVintage White Mountain Ice Cream Freezer / Churn   This ice cream maker is in great condition and looks like saw cream very few times!  The wooden barrel stands about 10" tall so I guess it would, and will, make about a quart or two of ice cream.  It is marked "Triple Motion" and from the looks of the parts that churn around inside as you crank it around I believe it.    Use it and display it both!
