Myers'
Patent Combination Fluter / Smooth Iron
Mr. Frederick Myers pulled several patents over the years for
different designs and styles of fluting irons. One was the famous goat
fluter.
Another was for the model similar to this that came with patterned embossing plates. This one's plates
are made to slide in and out as if to allow for different size plates to be used.

Combo Fluter / Flat Iron This combination iron is
a NY patent iron by Nelson Streeter. The Sensible iron base is the holder
for the roller fluter plate. This is a great iron that has a
great look. There is also a miniature version of this iron that is very rare,
and Streeter also patented the Magic #1 box iron, a variation on the theme of
this one.

Fluter This iron was patented by Charles
Monroe of Chicago in 1871. The latch is original and
damage free. The fluting plates inside are brass. A very nice
example.

Fluter This is Myron Knapp patent combination
fluting iron. It has the patent info cast into the top. It can be
found marked several different ways. The fluting ridges of Knapp iron
are cast right into the body rather than as separate plates the way Monroe and
