Abesto
Electric Iron
The tag on the back has lots
of info in addition to the 1909 patent date. This is the company that
was famous for their two piece removable top sad irons both in full size and
child's. This was their attempt to change with a changing world.
I do not think they made it as this is the only one I have seen. Nice
and different!

Double
Point Center Mount Electric Iron
This is a rare electric
iron in OK condition. I believe it brought quite a bit more than this
at the sad iron collectors auction recently, but here is your opportunity to
get the only one I have ever offered for sale, at a whopping 60% off, just like
the stores are offering this season.

Mary
Proctor Single Post Never Lift Electric Iron
The collector
cut the cord off this one so it would not get in the way of the look.
I remember when common wisdom from iron collectors recommended or advocated
this approach. I never saw any mention of going to the trouble of gently
taking them off if you found them offensive or bothersome---just the wack
them off method. Today it is taboo to cut them. If you are one of
the believers in leaving the cord on, I can set you up with a good replacement
for this. I did save extras.
The iron itself, with a built in "trivet"---different!

L
F & C "Universal" Electric Iron
This is a nice early patented iron with
an interesting trivet I am not familiar with. There is lots of info on
the iron and trivet, and note the iron is set up to accept a curling iron as
well. It has an interesting detachable handle design as well.
The trivet was also made for a double purpose so the iron could
be used as a hotplate / cooker. When you remove the handle the iron can
set into the trivet upside down, allowing it to be used for other purposes besides
just ironing. Be sure to look at all the pictures.

This iron is a solid heavy piece of iron.
The decoration in the top is cast in. These predate the era of stamped
steel. It has a different body shape than the typical
Americans you find. Different and nice!!

Hot
Point Electric Iron
The company was located in Ontario,
CA and made a number of irons for different power companies and distributors.
I think Hot Point was the generic house brand name. Early and nice!!
