Demo Electric Iron in Hard Case
There must have been one of
these in near every store in America to help convince the new housewife to buy
one at one time. Or there were a lot of door to door guys who just gave up trying
to sell them and put them on the shelf in the garage as a lot of them turn up.
I have seen them referred to as rare, but unusual would
be a better fit. The paper work indicates that Montgomery Wards
was trying to sell this model for GE and I guess you got to test it out beforehand.
The side of the iron is clearly marked "Not for Sale" Demo only.
Both the box and iron are in very nice condition.

Electric Iron in Metal Fold up Box
If packaging and promotion counted for anything this one was probably a big
seller in its day. I believe it dates from the 20'-30's or so. You
can routinely find this iron out of the box, and sometimes in a ratty and rusty
box, but seldom do you see them in this nice condition. Super!

Sunbeam "Ironmaster" Electric
Iron
After WWII Sunbeam switched back from making war related products and
went into full production to fill the "needs of the new
emerging housewife. This electric iron has super lines and design elements
from that era, and that design was probably changed or different 2 years later
to keep the designers in place, but bottom line was plug it in and go.
Now you can probably still find one on the
shelves not looking much different with a "Made in China" sticker on it somewhere.
Ever notice how those new products are never stamped China, and it is always
only on the box, packaging, or a removable sticker. This iron is in super condition, and is
clearly marked "Made in AMERICA
