Alba "Split Chimney" Charcoal Iron
This Portuguese child's charcoal iron measures just 4" in length. It has
a very unusual design with the top half of the chimney opening up as one-piece
with the rest of the iron top, with a latch at the mouth of the stack. There are some antique children's irons that are amazingly detailed and were probably produced in
very limited quantities, and this is certainly one of those. It's full
size counterpart is hard enough to find---this little one even more so,
especially in this nice condition and complete with its inside grate.

Size Brass Ox Tongue Iron with Matching Companion Trivet
It is rare to find these ox tongue irons in this smaller size complete with
their original trivets. This example is in really nice condition, and
the trivet is exceptionally nice! Be sure to look at all the pictures

nice and very unique miniature brass iron. It has a nicely contoured rod
handle. The body is cast brass with an engraved or decorated border. There is
a raised cartouche in the center. It has a French feel to it. A super

Decorated Red Swan Iron This is a super condition
toy Swan iron. It is very unusual to find examples with this much original finish
remaining. In addition to the red there is black outlining and the top of the
handle was done in yellow. Very nice! This 2 7/8" example is one of the larger
models that can be found. It will be a long time before you see another with
this good finish.

Tailors Iron Advertising Paperweights
These miniature advertising pieces from tailor shops, laundries, and clothiers
are rare and desirable. The Russell collection had a nice assortment,
and here are the three most unusual. The twist handle one on the left
is marked "Jos. M. Hayes Woolen Co. Fine Woolens St. Louis". In the middle
is "The John J. Carbery Co. Cincinnati, Ohio". On the far right is a smaller
twist handle "John L. Bobo &Co'p'ny Tailors Trimmings Chicago". Nice!!

Top "Baby" Childs Iron
The top on this one is a very thin cast iron and it covers both the top
and sides of the base. The iron is often referred to as "The Baby", and

Miniature Figural Cast Brass Nickel Plated Decorative
Iron This is a very detailed and well
executed vintage miniature iron. It has two birds cast into the surface
on the top. One is in flight, and the other not. It might be an
Eagle & Dove, or maybe two Doves. I'm sure there is some sort of symbolism
going on there, and that is the beauty of such pieces. It looks to have
been nickel plated at one point, and would look super, either re-nickeled, or
stripped and polished.

Mfg. Co. Gas Jet Iron This is a nicely made little
gas jet iron that was patented in 1871. It measures just about 3" long
and was marketed as a real iron, not just a toy. The holes through the
body are meant to be used to heat this iron over or on a gas jet fixture prior
to use. The handle is very nice, and the supports have a nice cut out
design. A tough to find iron!

"Electric" Streamline Iron
Here is an unusual Deco or Space Age inspired design miniature cast iron toy
iron. The green paint is original and is reminiscent of the teens or
twenties when that color scheme was popular. But this iron is more
often found in red than this green. The streamlined look is a design
element from that era that designers were beginning to incorporate into
their designs while looking toward the future.

This piece is cast iron with a lead interior.
They were given out as advertising or promotional items from Reid Bros. Red
Goose Shoes to be used as paperweights. This one is missing its identifying
logo / decal from the side, but still has a good amount of original red paint.
