This is a nice looking iron. These were marketed as both child's irons
/ toys and as lace irons, and the number was used to indicate the size
or weight relative to the other irons that were offered. From the look I assume it is
English and dates from the late 19th century. A nice example!

Different Rounded Block Handle #1 Sad Irons
These two irons are both marked #1 and are similar but different! Super
nice casting on both. Note the nicely defined round handle grips and
their embellishment lines / contours.

These two little irons both have a very pronounced and pointed toe and nicely
stepped base. The iron on the right has raised initial at the rear.

Iron "FALK TOY" Sad Iron
This is a very unusual English toy iron made by the Falkirk foundry.
It is made to look just like a large one, has a rolled strap handle, and is
marked "FALK TOY 1" in the
casting. Hard to find!!

This is a nice looking tiny English iron. These were marketed as both
child's irons / toys and a lace irons and the number was used to

Size #3 Sad Iron w/ Unusual Keystone Logo
This one is fashioned after a full size flat iron. It has
a great look, and nice details. Look at the stepped casting and the uprights,
and the cast handle. The logo looks to be a keystone with the number 3.
It is in super condition and has lots of original finish. Special!

Handle Spade Shape Child's Iron Marked FG This is a nice
condition #0 child size iron. It has a rolled handle with cast bolsters.
The 3" body is cast iron with #0 and the letters F G. The
outer edge is a cove detail. It has a gold finish. Nice!

D X Miniature Cross Hatch Design Iron This tiny little iron
could well be called a salesman sample as I have had the full size model marked
exactly the same. It still has a lot of the original nickel finish, and
the cast handle is a nice touch. Very sweet!

Handle "M Co" Childs Iron This iron
has a really neat leather covering to the handle and an interesting "M Co" manufacturer's
mark that I don't recognize. The casting is really nice, the handle is
super unusual.

Sad / Pressing Iron with Unusual Mark This small iron has a great form.
It is only 3" long. The front is rounded at the base, but then the top
decoration is a sharper and more pointed. The name is hard to make out,
but the logo is similar to that used by Kenrick. Interestingly the number
1 is sideways! Different!
