Lift Gate Iron Box Iron
This is a small English box iron. The gate at the rear is lifted with
the brass knob at the end of the bent rod. A nice looking iron in very
nice condition.

English Iron Box Irons
This style of iron is
usually associated with England, but they were made all over the European continent.
They also came in a myriad of sizes and what we have here are 3 relatively small
ones each with an original slug. Each is in nice condition including the
gates and handles. In the smallest sizes these are particularly hard to
find.

Lift Gate Box Iron
This is a nicely made box iron.
Note how the handles are attached to the top as if forge-welded instead of being
bolted as with later models. It has a nicely turned handle, and overall
is in good condition noting the pitting. It is about 5" long.

English Spade Shape Box / Sad Iron
This is unmarked but I believe it is English.
It may be a Lyng, and it is similar to the American box iron known as the Salamander
as well as the Brown & Foster. The handle and the heat shield are very
nice as is the rest of the iron.

Double Point Box / Sad Iron
This is side hinge Kenrick English double point box iron with a plain brass
heat shield. It is stamped on the top "A K & Sons", but the K is
hard to make out.

This is side hinge English double point..
It has a decorated top heat shield stamped on the top with the Kenrick logo
and foundry name. A nice iron!

This
is side hinge English double point box iron. It has a decorated top heat
shield stamped on the top with the Kenrick logo and the words "The Flower Box
Iron". It has a different latch mechanism in that it is a slide lock.
This style is much harder to find than the top mounted knob style. Different
and nice!
