Gas & Oil

Maytag Quart Oil Can   The Quart size Maytag on the left is very nice.  Maytag once held the distinction of being a great US company and producing some great products.  Now they are gone, and their relationship with Newton, Iowa will be but a memory.   The Maytag name lives on though, and I imagine any current products will carry  a "Made in China"  instead of USA sticker if they still use the name.  Much like Rigid or Delta and others whose names use to signify a level of quality and being American made.   (Texaco can listed separately below)      ML-oil-tins1

Texaco Oil Can / Texaco Spica Oil Can  This is an early and rare can.  I believe it dates from the 20's or so and appears to have never been used.   I have 2 of these and the one pictured in the links is a different one and is the same price.

Hand Separator Oil Can by Standard Oil  The can says it is specially formulated for the close fitted bearings in the cream separator you were using.   Sounds like marketing to me.  The graphics on it are great!

5 Different Handy Oil Cans  A Keystone, a 3-in-1 SAE 20 Motor Oil, True Value, Whiz, and little 3-in-1.  It's a good start for an oil can collection.

2 New Old Stock Containers

Carbon X Carbon and Cylinder Cleaner   The one on the left is to take care of carbon buildup in your new car back in the teens or so.  Marketing and product development for things like this to service the new big ticket item you bought is an American tradition and were probably in the works the day after the first gas engine was sold.  Marvel Mystery Oil probably bought them out and they are still in business.

KilStain  is now known as Kilz or similar and is still being marketed for stains on the walls today, but not for plaster like this one is.
