1/4 H.P. Bipolar Electric Motor This 1/6 H.P. motor appears
to be in fine condition noting the minor tears in the armatures fabric or tape /
paper
cover. The windings inside appear to be fine. These smaller versions
of these early electric motors are even harder to find than their larger
brothers. The top brass plate on this one has one patent date from 1891,
and it says it is a 3Amp. 10 Volt that runs at 1300 RPM. The serial # is
12442. The quadruple brushes are carbon in three of the holders and the
fourth seems to have leather in it for some reason. I would imagine that
this would run all day, and have no trouble putting any current product to
shame. It is just about 8 3/4" tall and 12" long. There are not many of these left
and
they make for a graphic display and represent an important part in the history of the development of electrical
technology in this countries history. Rare and recommended!
Good++ .....$995.00 SOLD
Hotchkiss Stapler w/ Tail These model staplers with the tail are super hard to find. The simpler version had storage for a sigle row of 100 or so staples. With this auxillary feature you could load up 4 or 5 times the amount. I do not know what besides gravity was supposed to make the staples advance, but perhaps that is why you see so few of them. A good one, in pretty good condition. Excellent.........$195.00 SOLD
Litner
and Sporborg Pistol Grip Speed Indicator
This is one of the rarest and most desirable speed indicators that was produced during the later part of the 19th
century, and the condition of this one is superb. No collection of
these interesting and graphic devices can be considered complete without
the full set of these in the middle. This example has a serial #of 866 stamped
into the bottom of the grip, and the Gutta-Percha grips are flawless as
is the patent info and inventors name that is engraved into them.
The 4 Patent dates range from 1889 thru 1894. On the other side is
the inventors name Harvey Hubbell. The nickel plating is 98% + and
there will be no disappointments with any aspect of the condition of
this piece, truly a top shelf piece. Display it proudly!! EXCELLENT ........$295.00 SOLD
Century Telegraph Key This is the nicest example of this style telegraph key that I have ever seen. The patent info is written on the base, and the decoration is bright and crisp as if it was applied last week, but it is original. The name comes from the fact that it was patented right after the turn of the century. It is also refered to as the pump handle key and was designed for those who were developing Carpel Tunnel withthe typical style keys available. A rare and unusual piece in suburb condition. Excellent.........$1795.00 SOLD
Roth 1/2 H.P. Bipolar Electric Motor This 1/2 H.P. motor appears to be in good condition and is an early and important example of motor technology when it was still in its infancy. It weighs in at close to 100 lbs and stands just under 13" tall. The windings appear to be OK, but I have not tested or attempted to run it. Tough to find this open frame motors were once pushed out of the way and considered nothing more than scrap are today an important reminder of just were we were and how far we have come. Good++ ...... $ 975.00 SOLD
The
Ajax Electric Motor
This is an interesting and nice condition example of a small battery powered
electric motor. This type of motor was sold out of the back of magazines
and were used as toys and demonstrators. This marked example is in near
new pristine condition.

Excellent ..... $165.00 SOLD!
C & C Curtis & Crocker Bipolar Electric Motor The condition on this motor is second to none, and it has not been restored or fiddled with in any way. The patent dates for this motor are from the 1880's putting it as one of the earliest. This company is well known and were highly respected when they were in bussiness for just a few years in the 1880's. In addition to fans they also made motors for commerial purposes and I assume that this is what this was for to run a sewing machine or other similar device. Seldom seen, and never in this condition. A choice piece of electrical motor history ready for the collection. Excellent....... $ 1450.00 SOLD
Early Ear, Nose, and Throat Quack Diagnostic Device This is an early example the supposed diagnostic and curative power of light in the medical field. This device is NOS and shows no signs of even casual use. The directions talk about being able to diagnose most ailments with this as the white light it emits is so strong nothing can escape observation. This is the basic set for ear, nose, and throat, but if you were impressed they also offered a larger set with devices to help probe and examine all sorts of other orifices you might encounter in your quest to heal. Some of the light wands carry 2 different patents, one from the teens, and the other from the 20's which is when I believe this dates from. Have you seen the stuff the modern day ones have in their offices that rival this that hum when they get to the right spot. Never you mind where it actually hurts.
Excellent ..... $225.00 SOLD!
