German Child Size Ox-Tongue Iron with Engraved Sides   This is a unusual and seldom seen mini ox tongue iron. The body is solid but meant to resemble it's full-size slug-heated counterpart.  The decoration on the side is of a fire breathing dragon.  It is very detailed and very finely cast.  A special little 3 1/2" iron!  Highly recommend!

Very Good   ........ $395.00     SOLD!

Patented Chalfant Mfg. Co. Gas Jet Heated "Toilet" Iron    This small iron was patented by L. Wilkinson on January 3, 1871 and produced by the Chalfant Mfg. Co. of Philadelphia.  Measuring just 3" long it was marketed as both a toy and a toilet sad iron which could be heated in just 3 minutes on a gas jet and used when traveling or at home for those quick touch-ups in the dressing room.  Note the hollow body and the front and rear openings.  With most of the original nickel plating remaining and the patent date clearly stamped in the side,  I guarantee you will love the condition of this example!              Excellent ..... $195.00            SOLD

The Pearl Wood Handled Iron    This pretty little double pointed antique child's iron is another all-time favorite of collectors and features a non-detachable wooden handle and decorative black japanned top on a nickel plated base.  This classic is the 3 3/4" version and it's condition is...........                Very Good  .................$45.00     SOLD

Child-Size / Miniature Geneva Rocker Fluter    The full-size version of this fluting iron is probably the most frequently found of all fluters.  But change your tune on this one, because it is the little one, with a base that measures just 2" x 3 1/2" and standing barely 2 1/4" tall.  This child-size version has to be one of the least frequently found of all little irons and it always tops the want list of brand new and  long-time collectors alike.  This is only the second example of this miniature fluter I have ever owned, and it couldn't be in finer condition.  It is guaranteed to be old and genuine and certain to be one of the highlights of your iron collection.               Excellent .........$450.00         SOLD

Myers Patent Double Point Miniature Lace Iron    According to Judy Politzer's reference in the classic reference Tuesday's Children, Reuben Meyers was granted a patent for this pressing iron as a "lace iron", although it undoubtedly doubled as an iron small enough to be easily handled by a child.  Hailing from Mount Joy, PA this iron is beautifully designed and manufactured to the same exacting standards of workmanship that the other assorted Meyers irons are known for.  This example is the smaller size of the double pointed irons measuring 3 1/2" in length.  The spring loaded latching mechanism makes a tight and secure hold to the base, which is indented to receive the handle.  There is a tiny split in the wood, but it is minor.  About 50% of the nickel plating remains on the base.                      Very Good................$145.00    SOLD

Stevens "Our Pet" Child Size Iron    This is an example of another beautifully crafted iron by J & E Stevens Co. of Cromwell, Connecticut, a company well-regarded for their mechanical banks and other cast iron toys.  This delightful antique toy iron is aptly named "Our Pet", and it exhibits the exceptionally high quality of workmanship that has come to be associated with the Stevens name.  The casting of this 3 1/2" iron is superb with the bottom of the base being incredibly smooth and finely finished, and the lettering on top is distinct.  The thin sole, the grace of the handle posts, and the form of the wooden grip are perfectly balanced and delicate in design.  This iron is in very nice condition with lots of original black japanning on the base and a smooth rich patina to the wood.  Handle is stamped with the words "Pat Apd For".  It is guaranteed old and original and guaranteed to please!                     Excellent.......$175.00           SOLD

Sensible No. 6 Variation Marked "R.M.W. & Co."    A variation of the typical Sensible No. 6 little iron, this one bears a patent date of June 13 '88 cast into the edge of the handle, a year later than the original Streeter patent, and according to Frank & Judy Politzer it is probably a Canadian look-a-like.  Note the detailing in the wooden handle grip.  The base of the iron measures 3 7/8" and is turned up polisher-style at one end.                     Good.................$125.00         SOLD

Streeter's Sensible No. 6 Detachable Handle Child's Iron    You could make an interesting collection of antique irons by simply collecting all of the many variations and sizes of irons made by Nelson R. Streeter & Co. of Upstate New York.  The Sensible No. 6 is one of the smallest that they manufactured and is a 4" double-pointed removable handle style patented in the late 1800's.  The spring-loaded thumb latch makes for a secure fit, and this is the version that features indented side panels on the base.  There is a bit of texture from pitting on the top and top edges of the base, but the nickeled portions on the sides and the entire bottom are smooth and have most of their original nickel remaining and the wooden grip is excellent.          Good+.................$125.00       SOLD

Rare Stevens Child Size Iron    I don't believe I have seen this iron pictured or identified in any of the books, but given the exquisite design, the style of the handle, and the high quality of the casting I am willing to wager that it is one more in the line of J. & E. Stevens.  The wafer-thin base measures just under 3" long.                Very Good ..... $145.00       SOLD

Engraved Amazoc 1 3/4" Iron     Even though these irons are from Mexico, they are the hand work of the finest craftsman, and not to be confused with the cheap reproductions of common sadirons that have recently come from that country.  These highly engraved, finely crafted hard steel decorative irons come from the Puebla area of central Mexico, which is noted for its beautiful and artistic metalwork including that of the highly regarded Mexican bit, spur, gun and knife makers of the past decades.  This example measures 1 3/4" long and has the characteristic thin base and delicate engraving.  It also exhibits the circle of tiny dots around the handle sockets where a punch was used to tighten the bond between the base of the little iron and the decorative handle.

Excellent ..... $125.00     SOLD

Strap Handle Child-Size Iron    This antique iron is the very iron that was photographed in Figure 106 of Judy Politizer's Early Tuesday Morning book, and it has been in the same collection ever since.  Opportunities like this to own a piece of history are few and far between.  Measuring in at just under 3.5 inches it was constructed with a one-piece bent strap handle and a nicely defined stepped base.  (ETM 106 actual iron photographed)

   GS-S-1

Very Good.................$40.00     SOLD!

Hollow Grip Little Iron Marked "A"    I guess the idea here with the marking was to think outside the box, and if number "1" was already taken then go with the letter "A".  This hollow grip iron has a rounded toe, a nice thick base, and measures about 2 7/8 inches long.  The letter A is nicely defined.  (sim TC 150)        GS-S-4

Excellent.................$35.00     SOLD!

8 Point Star Wire Handled Little Iron    This little iron measures only 2 3/4 inches long and is embossed on the top with an 8 point star.  A really neat piece!

(ETM 83[a])           GS-S-7

Good.................$35.00     SOLD!

Little Spade Iron Embossed with a Flower    This little antique flatiron is really charming with a flower embossed on the base that looks like a rose or perhaps a camellia.  It measures 3 1/4 inches long and has an early pounded rolled hollow grip handle.    (ETM 138[a])

   GS-S-8

Very Good.................$45.00     SOLD!

Two Very Tiny Curled Handle Irons with Trivets    There are a multitude of variations to be found in this style of iron, but the little ones like this are especially hard to find, especially complete with their trivets.  They both measure about 1.25 inches.    (TC 16[a] and [b])

GS-S-10     GS-S-11

Very Good.................$45.00 each     SOLD!

Little Iron Embossed with 6 Point Star    This is one of the sweetest little irons I have ever seen!  There is a nicely cast 6 pointed star embossed on the base that is very graphic and ornamental.  The little rod handle with square collars at the sockets is a nice design feature as well.  The iron has a slightly rounded front and measures only 2.5 inches long.  (TC 122)         GS-S-2

Excellent.................$65.00     SOLD!

Beautiful Ridged Tri-Bump Handle Iron    This little tri-bump iron is a classic!  The iron is beautifully cast, very delicate and sharply defined, with an extremely smooth surface and excellent patina.  All three "bumps" have swirled ridges cast into the design, making for a really attractive look.  It is complete with matching cathedral design trivet.  The little iron measures about 3.25 inches long.  (TC58[f])             GS-S-16

Excellent.................$45.00     SOLD!

Kenrick Child-Size Iron    The iron is marked M OR as well as Kenrick and the layout of the letters on the body of this very nice iron is interesting.  It is English and by the foremost maker of irons and other cast iron from that country.  It measures 4 1/2" long and has a rolled strap handle.  A nice piece.        LCM-CS-1

Excellent.................$22.50    SOLD!
